Always.Įver since i've bought my macbook pro i used iPhoto to organize my photos. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work.

So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. IPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?

See this article for details on how to unhide it. Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1 Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. Now, I cannot figure out how to export my photos to Shutterfly (this is both my backup method for saving photos and also how I send albums to family/friends).

I just blindly accepted Photos as an upgrade from iPhoto.

Where can you find them as my shared tab just says start sharing but doesn't display the previous shared albums I create on the the old iPhoto app. I do not see my shared albums on the new Photos app for iMacs. If you have more than one Photos library-and the one you're using isn't set as the System Photo Library-the Media Browser won't. The Media Browser shows only the contents of the Photos library designated as the System Photo Library. Use the Media Browser to make images from your photo library available in other apps, like Pages and iMovie. Your sure you don't still have iPhoto in your Applications folder? (you would have to export the image out of Photos before you can edit it in pse 13) You can't set anything for an external editor in Photos, at least not in the current version. As a security precaution, Windows asks permission to turn on your camera. If the app asks permission to use your camera and microphone or location, decide whether to click Yes or No.
